Why This Field Matters

A renewal option gives the tenant the contractual right to extend occupancy without renegotiating from scratch, which is worth significant leverage and avoided relocation costs. Relocation expenses (moving, downtime, new build-out) can easily reach $50-100/RSF. Without a renewal option, the tenant has no guaranteed right to stay and faces holdover exposure at lease expiration.
